Position Overview

HPA Healthcare is recruiting a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity at UP Health System - Portage in Hancock, Michigan.

The physician will provide emergency department coverage at a Level III Trauma Center serving Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

This assignment offers scheduled 12-hour day shifts, established clinical support, competitive compensation, and the possibility of ongoing coverage.

Assignment Highlights

• Pay: $305/hour

• Pay Ranking: Competitive with the upper portion of recently identified Michigan Emergency Medicine locum tenens advertised rates; exact percentile unverified

• Overtime/Holiday Pay: Up to $396.50/hour, subject to approved assignment terms

• Setting: Level III Trauma Center

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts

• Call: None

• ED Beds: 11

• Patient Volume: Approximately 36 daily

• Admissions: Approximately 3 daily

• Support: 2-3 RNs and 1 APP

• EMR: MEDITECH

• Credentialing: Approximately 30 days

• Temporary Privileges: Available when needed

• Travel: Reimbursement available within assignment limits
