Emergency Medicine NP / PA - Locum Tenens | Michigan

10-Hour Shifts | No Call | Level III Trauma Center | December 2026-March 2027

HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Michigan.

The position involves providing emergency department care to patients of all ages in a Level III trauma setting, with emergency physicians and nursing staff available for support.

Assignment Highlights

• Schedule: 12 PM-10 PM, 10-hour shifts.

• Coverage: Specific blocks including weekdays and weekends.

• Call: None.

• Patient Population: All ages, including pediatric patients.

• Emergency Department Volume: Approximately 36 patients daily.

• Admissions: Approximately 3 daily.

• Practice Setting: Level III Trauma Center.

• Support: Emergency physicians and ED nursing staff.

• EMR: MEDITECH.

• Credentialing: Approximately 30 days.

• Temporary Privileges: Available when needed.

• Orientation: One onsite day required before the first scheduled shift.

• Travel and Lodging: Assistance available subject to client approval.

• Potential Extension: Additional dates may be available.

The facility is requesting one provider for the assignment. Specific shift commitments will be confirmed during scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat adult and pediatric emergency department patients.

• Perform histories and physical examinations.

• Order and interpret diagnostic studies.

• Develop and implement treatment plans.

• Manage common emergency medical conditions and acute injuries.

• Perform appropriate procedures within clinical privileges.

• Coordinate with emergency medicine physicians and nursing staff.

• Support patient admissions and discharge planning.

• Document care in MEDITECH.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.

• Appropriate active Michigan professional license.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible, as applicable.

• BLS certification required.

• Must be able to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, including pediatrics.

• Emergency department experience strongly preferred.

• Ability to work scheduled evening shifts, including weekends.

• Ability to complete credentialing promptly.

• Availability for onsite orientation before the first scheduled shift.
