Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Physician – Reidsville, NC

HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Physician for a long-term locum tenens opportunity in Reidsville, North Carolina, beginning December 2026.

This is an ambulatory Hematology/Oncology position with a significant benign hematology focus and an established multidisciplinary support team.

Assignment Highlights

• $510 per hour

• Primary Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts

• Typical Hours: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

• No call

• Adult ambulatory Hematology/Oncology

• Approximately 15+ patients/day

• Approximately 60–65% hematology

• Strong benign hematology focus

• Bread-and-butter Hem/Onc

• General oncology exposure

• Established multidisciplinary support team

• Epic EMR

• 39 week assignment

• Pay Ranking: Top 10%

Position Overview

The physician will provide ambulatory Hematology/Oncology coverage with a significant focus on benign hematology.

Responsibilities include seeing new and established patients, managing treatment plans, writing orders and prescriptions, communicating with pharmacy, and collaborating with an established multidisciplinary clinical team.

The physician will have support from nurses, a navigator, administrative staff, pharmacy, physicians, APPs, and infusion staff and will not be expected to work entirely solo.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and established Hem/Onc patients

• Manage benign hematology conditions

• Provide bread-and-butter Hematology/Oncology care

• Provide general oncology care when appropriate

• Write orders and prescriptions

• Review laboratory and diagnostic testing

• Develop and modify treatment plans

• Communicate with pharmacy

• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, infusion and navigation staff

• Complete clinical documentation in Epic

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of Hematology/Oncology experience

• Board Certified in Hematology and/or Oncology

• Dual board certification preferred

• Oncology Board Certification required if treating oncology patients

• Strong benign hematology experience

• Comfortable in a general Hem/Onc setting

• Active North Carolina medical license required

• Active DEA

• Current BLS

• Epic assessment required before start
