Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician – Northern California

HPA Healthcare is seeking Board-Certified or recently Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physicians for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Northern California beginning January 2027, with possible December 2026 coverage for physicians who can complete an accelerated credentialing process.

This is a hospital-based Emergency Medicine assignment with a mix of day, evening, and overnight shifts and no call responsibilities. The ED averages approximately 110 patient encounters per 24 hours and offers extensive around-the-clock specialty support.

Candidates must have an active California medical license, DEA, ACLS and BLS and must meet Emergency Medicine-specific board requirements. ABEM/AOBEM certification or qualifying recent board eligibility is required. Physicians should be able to provide consistent monthly availability, with particularly strong consideration for providers interested in 5–7+ shifts per month.
