Urgent Care Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner

Position Overview

HPA Healthcare is seeking experienced Family Medicine Physicians, Internal Medicine Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants for a locum tenens urgent care opportunity in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Providers will deliver high-quality outpatient care for patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and other non-emergent medical conditions.

Assignment Highlights

• Pay Ranking: Competitive proposed compensation; exact market percentile pending verification

• Setting: Outpatient Urgent Care

• Location: East Rutherford, NJ

• Potential Extension: Approximately 6 months

• Telehealth Experience: Not required

• Overtime: Eligibility based on assignment terms

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries.

• Perform medical histories and physical examinations.

• Order and interpret diagnostic testing.

• Diagnose and manage common urgent care conditions.

• Perform appropriate minor procedures within approved privileges.

• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.

• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.

• Identify patients requiring emergency care or specialty referral.

• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.

• Collaborate with the clinical team to deliver efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, NP, or PA with relevant clinical experience.

• Active or eligible New Jersey professional license.

• Appropriate board certification or professional credentials.

• Relevant urgent care, family medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient acute-care experience preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

• Ability to manage patients efficiently in an urgent care environment.

• Applicable prescribing authority and life-support certifications.
