Anesthesiology – Cardiac Locum Tenens Physician

Position Overview

HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens opportunity at a major acute care hospital in York, Pennsylvania.

The facility is a 593-bed Level I Trauma Center providing advanced surgical and procedural services to a diverse patient population.

The assignment includes 10-hour daytime shifts and overnight beeper call, with approximately three call shifts per week.

The physician will provide anesthesia services for cardiac and other complex surgical procedures while working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.

The facility is seeking coverage for specific dates in November and December 2026, with ongoing full-time opportunities anticipated throughout 2027.

Assignment Highlights

• Pay Ranking: Competitive / Upper-Market

• Regular Pay: $430/hour

• Night Call Pay& Callback Pay available

• Initial Assignment: 13 weeks

• Extension Potential: Throughout 2027

• Day Shifts: 0700-1700

• Night Call: 1700-0700

• Call Frequency: Approximately 3 nights weekly

• Post-Call Relief: Following day off or release around 1100

• Hospital: 593-bed acute care facility

• Trauma Designation: Level I

• EMR: Epic

• Case Mix: Cardiac and complex surgical anesthesia

• Board Status: BC or BE accepted

• Licensing: Pennsylvania license or IMLC LOQ

• Certifications: ACLS and PALS

• Experience: 2 years preferred

• Orientation: Required; all hours billable

• Credentialing: Approximately 90 days

• Temporary Privileges: Possible for eligible candidates

Schedule & Coverage

Standard Schedule

Regular Day Shift: 0700-1700

Overnight Beeper Call: 1700-0700

Some assignments require daytime coverage only, while others include daytime coverage followed by overnight call.

Approximately three night-call assignments per week are anticipated.

Post-call relief is generally provided the following day or at the first available opportunity.
