Locum Tenens Orthopedic Surgery NP/PA – Minnesota

HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Orthopedic Surgery experience for a long-term locum tenens assignment in Minnesota.

Job Highlights

• Duration: Approximately 6 months, with potential need up to 8 months
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
• OR Days: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
• Clinic: Wednesday
• Administrative: Friday
• Call: Optional with possible occasional weekend rounding
• Setting: OR + Orthopedic Clinic + Hospital
• Clinic Volume: Approximately 20–25 patients/day
• EMR: Epic / Excellian
• Estimated Weekly Pay: Approximately $4,800–$5,700, depending on scheduled/paid hours
• Long-term assignment with a consistent weekday schedule

The Role

This position combines surgical first assist with outpatient orthopedic care. The selected NP or PA will work alongside an established orthopedic team and assist with procedures including total joint replacements, fracture repairs, foot/ankle, shoulder, knee, hip, hand/wrist, and general orthopedic surgery.

Clinical responsibilities may also include patient evaluations, follow-up visits, morning rounding, casting and splinting, DME application, and joint injections.

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least 1 year of professional NP/PA experience and at least 1 year of OR experience. Prior orthopedic or sports medicine experience is preferred.

Candidates should also have:

• Active or obtainable Minnesota NP/PA license
• Appropriate national NP or PA certification
• DEA
• Minnesota CSR
• BLS
• Epic experience
• OR first-assist experience
