HPA Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon for ongoing locum tenens coverage in Hazard, Kentucky.

This is 24-hour beeper call with a 30-minute response requirement. The facility reports approximately 10 phone consultations and 10 patients seen per 24-hour call period, with an estimated 20% callback rate.

The surgeon should be comfortable with a broad General Surgery scope, including emergency surgery, trauma, bowel resections, perforations, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, abscesses, wound care and endoscopic procedures.

Candidates must be Board Certified in General Surgery, hold an active Kentucky license or qualify through IMLC, and maintain current ACLS and BLS. Credentialing is approximately 30 days, with temporary privileges available.
