Position Overview
A respected regional medical center in Kentucky is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist for an ongoing outpatient locum tenens opportunity beginning September 2026.
This assignment offers an excellent Monday through Friday outpatient practice with manageable patient volumes, minimal inpatient responsibilities, experienced APP support, and light beeper call.
The physician will evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders while supervising Advanced Practice Providers and collaborating with an experienced multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
Ideal candidates are comfortable managing anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, developmental disorders, involuntary commitments, and psychopharmacology in a community behavioral health setting.
Provider Compensation: $260/hour
Provider Pay Ranking: Top 10% of comparable Kentucky Psychiatry locum assignments.
Assignment Highlights

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits.
- Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of psychiatric illnesses.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
- Supervise two Advanced Practice Providers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary behavioral health planning.
- Provide low-volume beeper call coverage.
- Complete documentation within MediTech.
- Collaborate with nursing and behavioral health professionals.
Required Skills & Experience
Required
- Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatry
- Fellowship training required
- Active Kentucky Medical License or IMLC
- BLS Certification
- Minimum credentialing requirements as outlined by the facility
