Thoracic Surgery Locum Tenens Physician

Position Overview

A medical center in Honolulu is seeking a Thoracic Surgeon for a full-time locum opportunity offering a structured weekly schedule, dedicated OR time, and strong subspecialty support.

• $3,600/day (~$450/hour equivalent)
• Full-time schedule (no part-time availability)
• Dedicated surgical block time plus add-on cases
• Multispecialty support environment
• Thoracic-only call coverage

Cardiothoracic-trained physicians will be considered if actively performing thoracic cases.

Assignment Highlights

• Full-time commitment required
• Minimum 3-month assignment
• 2 clinic days per week
• 1 dedicated OR day per week plus urgent add-on cases
• Shared call with cardiac surgery (thoracic coverage only)
• Multispecialty support including pulmonology, oncology, general surgery, and CT surgery
• HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission–certified agency and active member of NALTO

Schedule & Coverage Details

• Clinic: 2 days per week
  • 40-minute consults
  • 20-minute follow-ups
  • Supported by PA and hospitalist teams
• Surgery: 1 day per week
  • Blocked OR time
  • Additional urgent add-on cases
• Call:
  • Shared with cardiac surgery colleagues
  • Thoracic surgery coverage only
